Roxbury’s Economic Development Committee (EDC) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Business Longevity Program. Roxbury’s Township Council & Economic Development Committee recognize the difficulty of sustaining & growing a viable business within a community for an extended period of time.
Created in 2018, this award provides formal recognition to businesses that have contributed to the economic well-being of the Township and have demonstrated a commitment to the vitality of Roxbury’s business climate.
Note: This recognition is characterized as symbolic in nature and carries with it no encumbrances or promises of special consideration in other business dealing with the Township of Roxbury It should be regarded as a special honor of gratitude on the part of the Township and the citizens of Roxbury.
This award recognizes local businesses that have served Roxbury Township for an extended period of time. The following two levels of longevity will be recognized:
25 Years: A business which has been in operation in Roxbury Township for at least 25 years is eligible for recognition. Businesses should be open to the public in a continuous fashion under individual, family or corporate ownership under the same name to be considered eligible. The Committee will determine if eligibility is met. Recognition includes a presentation of a certificate by the EDC and acknowledgement on the Economic Development Committee website.
50 Years: A business which has been in operation in Roxbury Township for at least 50 years is eligible for recognition by the Township Council. Businesses should be open to the public in a continuous fashion under individual, family or corporate ownership under the same name to be considered eligible for recognition. The EDC will determine if eligibility is met. The recognition includes a presentation of a plaque by the Township Council and acknowledgement on the Township’s website.
PROCESS:
Eligible businesses may submit the Business Longevity Recognition Program Nomination Form to the Economic Development Committee. Forms are accepted on a continuous basis.
To be eligible for either level of recognition, the business which is nominated must not have any outstanding zoning, construction, fire prevention or other similar violations with the Township and must be current on taxes and applicable utilities.
