How long have you been in business and/or in Roxbury?
I have owned the marina since 2009, however Lake’s End Marina has been here in business
since the mid 60’s. Before that it was a marina named Rocky’s, which was there from the 40’s.
Unfortunately, I do not know or have the actual dates. Just for some history, the building was
originally built in 1917 as a candy store.
What do you do? Tell us about your company and what makes it special.
Lake’s End Marina is a full service marina doing all boat service and repairs. We also rent out
dock slips and offer winter storage. We sell new Bennington pontoon boats along with all types
of used boats. We have the largest fleet of rental boats on Lake Hopatcong. From our beautiful
Bennington pontoon boats, to our rowboats with motors for fishing and rowboats and kayaks to
paddle around Lake Hopatcong. The marina also has a fully stocked ship store with bait and
tackle, as well as parts accessories needed for a fun filled day out on the water.
How did you (personally) get into this line of work?
I grew up a mile up the street from the Marina. I was out on the lake every day growing up, and
got a job as a dock hand here when I was 14 years old. After High School I went to school for the
mechanic end of the work, and then started working as the mechanic at the marina fixing the
boats. Then, in 2009 I purchased the marina and now here we are.
